Brentford Market and the Verdict Bakery

Beautiful morning yesterday so we popped down to the market but was very disappointed with the lack of stalls and hardly any shoppers so unfortunately I cannot see this lasting very long which is a real shameDid not help with two very bad young skateboarders either attempting to do tricks and losing control of their boards which were flying around the feet of the few shoppers thereThe biggest disappointment though was the prices in the Verdict Bakery as a cup of coffee and a cup of tea plus one piece of cake which I admit was delicious cost an eye watering £10.20 in total

Unfortunately you do not accommodate the market in the park,there was a place to have tea in the house as photographs show,"they " are suggesting similar now

Another Brentford alternative of course is the Pavilion Cafe in Boston Manor Park which is open weekends and a hot drink and a homemade piece of cake only costs £2.  That is until "they" open a cafe in the house as part of its lottery bid!

The way to keep the market is if you know anyone interested in running a stall get in touch with meat and veg lady, if we want a market then we all need to support her any way we can believe she has licence for about 10 stalls at the moment,don't let Verdict get a upper hand,service last time l went there waitress forgot our order as we happened to be outside and had paid upfront.

The Verdict Bakery is expensive but its the way Brentford is going :-( Those skateboarders wont ever wear knee pads as they dont look cool :-)

I must admit I did not say anything to the young lads as I did not wish to become any grumpier then I already am but I am surprised their parents did not insist on them wearing some knee or elbow protection before they left home

Re the skateboarders - I agree that their behaviour was dangerous and unacceptable. I'm not too sure how long they were there though and whether they moved on, which happened whilst I was there, as a result of adult intervention. What was clear was that most of us, me included, may have been slightly alarmed but chose to do nothing.

The market won't last long if it only has fair weather friends.There have in fact been a few more stalls i.e. the two food outlets at the market of late.You may not know - the meat and veg lady has taken over the running of the market.
