Goodbye

Hi all,Just to say that after over 16 years living here we're moving out of London next week (only to Newbury as heading back up north permanently would be problematic given the amount of projects I'm involved in around the south-east).  It may only be a short-term move, depending on how we find living outside of London, but then again I said 21 years ago after graduating from Sheffield uni that I was only moving to London for a year !.I'll still check in on these forums from time to time, and as always will be happy to provide planning advice etc., so I won't disappear altogether.  Hopefully at some point soon Chiswick cinema will finally come to fruition, and my apologies to some Brentford residents that my 'parting gift' seems to be a new KFC on the High Street...Thanks for all the discussions over the years, I know I'm quite blunt and stubborn at times but I hope my posts have helped people try to make head or tail of the 'wonderful' world of planning that my work forces me to inhabit !.Best wishes to all.Regards,Adam

Enjoy Newbury Adam, I have friends there and visit quite often (will be there tomorrow in fact) I will miss your patient explanations of the vagaries of the planning system to the general public as well as your less patient comments on this and the Chiswick site!

Goodbye and Good Luck and I'll miss your rational explanations of our frustrations of the vagaries of the UK planning system and... some very good fence-sitting!We were taken house hunting not so long ago in Newbury and were pleasantly surprised at how vibrant the town centre was.  We noticed that lots of the shops that we've lost in West London were still there, there were good transport connections and when looking at the satellite map we also discovered that that's where the legendary Greenham Common is/was.

I'm not surprised that you are leaving as I'd been reading lately how unhappy you were with how much the area had changed over the years.  You will really be missed Adam. When you get to Newbury visit MALMSBURY. Go by the A4. Stop on the way in Marlborough and visit the POLLY TEA ROOMS. I am sure you will love both. Best of luck.
