A4 Signpost in Guy's blog

FYI I raised that the signpost was pointing the wrong way by 90 degrees on FixMyStreet on the 7th January.  Very confusing for anyone who doesn't know the area.  No sign is better than a bad sign.

so how many people will it take to turn the signpost round so it points the correct way?  Obviously lorry loads of "specialists" will need to be deployed and at what cost?

Putting up a signpost is multi skilled. A detailed technical spec would be essential. Specification of the concrete mix needed. Diameter of hole to be excavated. A spirit level would be needed. Finally skilled usage of a GPS would be need to ensure the sign was pointing in the correct direction. Then a schedule set up to ensure the sign was cleaned on a regualr basis.

More jobs for the boys - surely putting up a signpost so it points the correct way doesn't need to involve at the most two people, a DIYer it would be just the 1 person.

Do you suppose the specification said which way round the sign should be put in?  Instructions may have been just to put it in.  It needed a diagram and a person who can read diagrams or who can be bothered to...  and someone to check the work!
