Just typical

For many years now people living near the RFU stadium have had the benefit of a match day CPZ which has always been funded by the RFU because of the considerable impact parking from people attending matches had on local residents.Recently Richmond council installed a CPZ in north St.Margarets which is adjacent to us, this has impacted on daily parking in this area - it isn't a problem because there is space. The manner in which some of them park is another matter, some of the original CPZ parking bays were not re-marked out when the footway was replaced, so some people just plonk vehicles wherever they feel like it. Hounslow are now going to propose a 'permanent' CPZ which you can bet your bottom dollar will cost residents dear, yet for all these years they have benefited from the PCNs given out on match days in a CPZ that has cost them nothing. I think this is absolutely shameful and only too typical of this pathetic local authority.

I believe it is a fact that people - whoever they were - asked the Council re introducing a CPZ and to be fair to the Council they didn't introduce the CPZ until after the third vote when there was a majority for it. The three votes took place over a period of about ten years and even though I voted against on each occasion I will admit that parking had got a lot more difficult over the intervening years.What really made me annoyed was that some people requested more recently that the no-parking hours be increased from one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening to two hours at both times. There was a vote for this and even though the 'for' got their way, I think this was more through apathy on the part of others. I just can't understand what the point of this was as I certainly found that there was no trouble parking once the CPZ was introduced. All it means is that you now have to use two lines instead of one on the Visitors' Parking strip i.e. it costs £1.60 instead of 80p.Another thing is that after parking for free in my road for over thirty years, it took an awful long time for the parking restrictions to sink in - now I ask workmen etc to come, if possible, outside of the restricted times. Final warning - if you give a workman a Visitors' Parking Permit be sure to get it back from them before they drive off - they come in a strip of about 18 lines and you could lose the lot!

Unfortunately the knock on effect of paid for CPZs is leading to the situation where there will soon be no free on street parking in the borough. Weather that’s a good thing or not depends on your view.

I never thought there was lack of spaces where I am in brentford it was just the way people parked. They sent out traffic wardens at random times obviously just didn't raise enough cash for LBH

I would have thought that the permits were limited to two per household but don't actually know. I can't see how even two per household can be sustained apart from the fact that a small number of houses don't have a car - one of my direct neighbours and another over the street that I know of in my immediate vacinity for a start.

Due to my hours of work it's not worth me getting a permit as there's no where to park when I get home perhaps they should be limited to 2 per household

We had three consultations in the BRS (Brook Road South) CPZ area over a period of about ten years. The first two times the CPZ did not go through as more people voted against than for. I do believe the Council were approached by residents in each case for there to be a CPZ and on the third occasion it went through. My road voted 11 for and 10 against, two roads from what I remember voted against and the others for. In the end, to make the scheme workable, the whole area was made part of the CPZ.I voted against on all three occasions although by the time near enough ten years had gone by I could have voted either way, the building of so many flats adding a great pressure to available parking. Join the club. It's £80.00 a year plus you need to buy Visitors' parking strips.

Possibly gone off the meds. suddenly popping up again? I get the problems that the 4 Roads and South St. area are experiencing, at the moment we don't have that although we have as I said, seen an increase due to the CPZ in North St. Margarets. However, if this does go ahead with a majority in that area wanting a CPZ we wouldn't have any choice - as we all know the traffic overspill would gradually trickle down to this end. I can't wait to see what Hounslow are going to charge, we can only live in hope that the consultation means something.

LBH took over the Rugby CPZ Traffic Order from Richmond on 1st March this year, it becomes live after 21 days. They will control all rugby & paid for CPZs in LBH after this time.Isleworth 4 Roads which includes 1-51 Worple Road have know applied for a Full Time CPZ because of pressure from the St Johns, North St and Church St full time CPZs as well as the George Inn application.
