Boston Manor Park Consultation - have you responded

LBH have put up more signs in Boston Manor Park today re the consultation as part of their Heritage Lottery Bid.  I keep on meeting people who say they are going to respond.  I hope they have by now as time is running out (closes 31 March 2019.  We Friends of the Park have given our first response which admittedly is rather negative but with 16 years in the park it is what we feel.- Don't relocate the MUGA- Don't remove the hedges- Don't remove the flower beds- Don't make the walled garden a kitchen garden reducing the event space that already works ...there is so much more.  Happy if you want to drop by the Pavilion cafe over the weekend and look at the plans and have a chat.

I have e-mailed a second submission as initially I was not aware that the plan is to remove the flower beds.  These are so beautiful and well looked after - how can they even think of getting rid of them.  I also objected to their plan to remove the fence around the 'lake' (to me, it is a big 'pond').  This would lead to dogs and children messing around in the water and disturbing the water birds. I am a dog owner but do not agree with dogs playing in this particular water space. During the last few days I have noticed that two pairs of coots are already building their nests for this year's babies and look forward to their arrival.  No acknowledgement yet received for either submission!

Libraries are being closed in Ealing. What you say about the parks is spot on. It is happening before our eyes. A park with no flower beds or hedges???????

Just look what has been done to Pitzhanger Manor, once Ealing's Public Library (now the borough has nowhere of their own to house it's central library,) Nicely restored but of little more use than a posh venue and average art gallery.An exercise in over indulgence by a clique for a clique.The whole thing has been turned into a venue for the haves with a bit of short term tokenism for the locals.Gunnersbury Park is similarly being gradually turned into a private venue and now it's Boston Manor and it's grounds.And all the time, the population locally is being ramped up and cashing in on this is clearly the real motivation for the privatisation of public open spaces.

Multi Use Games Area = MUGAif you email me via info@friendsofbostonmanor.com I will forward you the boards that they were showing at the house.  I believe some people have asked for these via the correct route following the house consultation but did not receive them!  I am a quicker route in view of the time constraints.

Yes I have responded Linda, albeit I have had no acknowledgement of my submission. I now plan to write to them again as I had no idea that they were proposing to remove the flower beds. That would deprive the park of so much natural beauty - they must remain.
