Limit to Parking Fines?

Is there a limit to the number of parking fines which can be put on a car? There is a car parked in my road which has already accrued four parking tickets = £440.00 (the person may not be back from wherever they have gone in time to pay at the lesser amount i.e. half). Unless a car is stolen I can't imagine somebody leaving a car parked where it shouldn't be for days on end so I will assume that for some reason they didn't notice that there is a CPZ in the road. The parking wardens come around daily it seems. I'm rather horrified for this person - could they end up with ten or more tickets? Isn't there a point at which enough is enough? Would it seem at all reasonable for somebody to have to be paying over £1000.00 in fines for leaving a car, presumably unwittingly, parked in a street with a CPZ? The amount of even one of these tickets seems to me in any case disproportionate to the crime.

The camper van to which I referred has now been dumped by Cleveland Park on Argyle Road Ealing with the remnants of countless PCNs still on the windscreen.It has obviously been broken into at some point and  'removal notices' have been affixed to both the front and rear windows.

I do not know you and although my next door neighbour is Anne, it is not you.The vehicle to which I referred was a large GM camper which was parked opposite my home for months. When the CPZ was implemented it disappeared and I happened to notice it parked just off Swyncombe Avenue in a clearly marked CPZ plastered in PCNs

Whoever owns the car will, by now, be getting the PCNs through the post. If it was stolen then they will be cancelled and the owner can identify where their stolen car is now parked as it will state this on the PCN.If they ignore the PCNs then the fines will continue to mount up and, ultimately, the bailiffs beckon.

Probably more lucrative for the council to allow the fines to mount up.

In this case it was 'too bad'.The vehicle was parked in a very clearly marked CPZ and was the same vehicle that had been parked about a mile away for over three months without moving.I had thought for a while that there was, unfortunately, someone living in it but this is not the case as local enquiries revealed that it had a local resident as the owner.So, tough and the, justifiable, fines accrued.

There was a camper van parked just off Windmill Road that accumulated (when I counted) fourteen tickets.It was parked directly next to the CPZ sign. So the owner is potentially £1500 out of pocket - tough!

The vehicle can get a parking ticket for each violation so yes potentially once/twice/three times a day depending on the CPZ restrictions.
