Sad news that Martin’s newsagents in the high street is closing next month.

I heard Martins is not going to be a Subway but will be a Costa!

An excellent post. I enjoyed reading it (twice). So sad in reality though. Thanks.

My! Brentford really is coming up in the world at last. A Domino's pizza replacing a very good cafe, a KFC and now a Subway sandwich bar. The icing on the cake a nine storey car park. The 'degeneration' of Brentford continues apace.

At least there will be a choice of places for the contractors working on our regeneration to eat, profits for kfc and possibly the 3rd subway in this area, but not much for us unfortunate ones who live here

Excellent idea. Therefore won't happen.

Possibly, although I would like to know if the rates have been increased massively or not.

Supply and demand.

To be fair, Subway probably do some half-decent sandwiches but what is it with all this take-away, Uber Eats etc stuff?

Did you not hear of 'Horsemeatgate'Nicholas..all under the watchful eye of our EU masters?
Keith Iddon ● 2477d
Thats what people want. Then after Brexit we will be able to have beefburgers with hormones.

Soon Brentford will be an American fast food take-away heaven.
Fantastic, an underground station at last!
Yep Subway is what i have heard.

Dominoes are already coming to Albany Parade. More likely a Subway if the rumors on Facebook are correct.
Paul Scullion ● 2478d
More likely, Dominos.

Great place for a post office?

Im told its closing next month the lease has run out.
Stephen Scott ● 2483d
I wonder why it is closing? Would it be lack of custom? I've hardly ever been in the shop although it has been there for many years.

Another useful Brentford shop bites the dust. I never found the staff that worked in Martins as the friendliest people in the world if im honest.
