235 Bus AGAIN !!

The 235 is no longer serving stops between Brentford County Court and the GWQ.Signs are up on bus stops saying no service, but no explanation as to why or when it may return.nothing on TFL websites and despite asking TFL some 4 hours ago, i have had no response.I imagine it's yet another issue with the barrier at GWQ - as it usually is.I thought they were replacing it according to reports at the end of the last interruption.Granted it's been a little while since the last incident, but it's annoying none the less.

235s running today despite the misleading sign in Half ACre

The issue is that GWQ is a rest stop at the end of the service - apparently the 235 is the longest route in London.There are 'facilities' available for drivers to 'rest' at GWQ and at the Morrisons stop.I saw there were 235s outside Morrisons last night so obviously this 'nightmare job' is a double nightmare. I'll go and have another look today.

Why can't the 235 go up Ealing Road round the GWR roundabout and then back down Ealing Road rather than starting/stopping at Morrisons?

Still no sign of a return to service at GWQ.I've had an update from TFL who say they sent a buses official down there earlier to inspect and confirmed works were ongoing.An official will be returning to the site tomorrow to verify works are complete by the deadline (surely missed that twice) and to restore service

Why are these bollards so necessary, particularly if they're blocking a bus route?  It seems to me that these bollards and their tendency to 'go wrong' are just a ploy to stop the 235 bus using that route, as promised in the planning deal.

I was there early this morning. The contractors say it's a nightmare job and what was supposed to be finished on Tuesday (having started Monday) will now not be done until next Tuesday.

Have heard from TFL this morning and they have stated that works have over run and should be completed on 7th May, no time given.

Good god! some things never change. When i lived down Ealing Road i used to use the 235 bus (When it was runningR) when there wasnt problems with it. Its a bit of a joke now really. Hope it gets sorted ASAP.

Many thanks for the prompt response Guy - always appreciated.TFL have told me it's due to 'short notice repair works' and will me lasting till 6pm tomorrow night (Tues 30th April).As ever i won't hold my breath, but we shall see.

You're right, it's an issue with the barrier, and it should have been better communicated (including to me!) but I was told some time ago that they are replacing the troublesome barriers with new ones. I just visited the site and contractors (quite a few of them) are on site. They look to have already removed the old barriers and are in the process of fitting new ones.I'm hoping this suspension of service will be the last for a very long time.
