Hell's Bells

Report in the paper today says that the dearest place to rent a room is our next door neighbour - Twickenham - (coming in third after the Channel Islands) - at £691 per week. An eye watering £35,932 p.a.It really beggars belief.

Dreadfully awful and no apology needed.'Bedsits' used to be the sole domain of 'first jobbers' moving to London when I was a kid, they are now what passes as a long-term 'home' for many.

I am clearly having either a senior moment and/or a 'Should've gone to Specsavers' issue - as this should have been per room per month - still awful and expensive, apologies.

Hi -It sounds more like per month judging from the rent asked for a room with use of kitchen and bathroom on spareroom.com. Is it really per month?! £550-600p.m. is about average I think and most people advertise with the rent to include gas, electricity, Council Tax, broadband, water and TV licence if you can get away with there only being one to cover the house.
