Furniture restoration

I had in mind that there was a charity group working with ex offenders to mend and restore pieces of furniture? Does anyone know contact details? Cheers Sarah x

Hi Philippa, I think you will be happy with my posting above about the Cathja shop now open in St Johns Road. Seems like they are even recycling the shop unit for their use in advance of the development of the site ... all good! ;) x

The new Cathja shop is in the empty Moore Bros bike shop in St Johns road, Isleworth. I have a Marks and Spencer 6 drawer dressing table in pine where the top needs sanding and revarnishing or Marks sell them now painted in white or dark grey. There is a mirror with two small drawers that sits on the top. Hoping they can take it to use in one of their upcycling workshops.Thanks everyone.Sarah x

Trinity also on the WLWA Furniture Reuse offer training it would seem. The WLWA website needs updating to remove groups no longer in existence and amalgamate Electrical & Furniture or cross reference.

Having had another quick look at this I notice that the Richmond one appears to have some mending of furniture included. Do have a look at them. They could do with updating though I think. A lot of these places seem to run when they have had a grant input...

I think the William Wilberforce Trust were doing this at one time in Brentford. There appears to be a social enterprise in Richmond called Purple carrot.
