Have to agree Simon. I think it's as much about ego massage for the likes of Ken and Tony in particular.Why should we have to wait for an Olympics to have transport and infrastructure improved?We are obviously not worthy without the games...I suppose it'll be like a World Cup too, in terms of who is allowed to get tickets for the most sought after events.If you,as a non-corporate,non-v.i.p ordinary punter want tickets for the first heats of the synchronise swimming or the egg and spoon race,there will be tickets -a -plenty. Should you want to see the interesting stages of the 800m/1500m/100m etc. you will probably find that your ticket comes with a night in a 3/4 star hotel with coach to and from venue,lunch thrown in all for about £800.We must remember,like it or not, our job is to pay for it all and to watch it on telly.
