The car park is only going to be for public use temporarily.  And the operators can charge what they like.  Another inept approval by our overseers past and present.Watermans will thus have no nearby parking when it moves and placing the new location in what will be a very dense residential location with no parking is verging on reckless insanity.  No business viability whatsoever. There is no way local residents will wear late licences and loud gigs and noise. Then again the last thing anyone cares about in Brentford are those who live here and actually use the place. The existing Watermans is , like the Fountain an example of malfunctioning functional architecture that seems to only ever be adopted by local authorities.  It could and should have been so much better. But there is no denying that the present Watermans location is unbeatable for any Arts Centre anywhere.  It can make as much noise as it likes as long as it likes and affects no-one other than the trees on the Eyot.It was a thriving place for many years, but zig-zag policies and a handout culture within the arts has led to the place losing it's mainstream popularity. Mainstream is a dirty work in arts. Like the disdain Graphic Designers traditionally endure from 'Fine Arts' .It should remain where it is and be incorporated to a true riverside development for the people of this Ribbon Town which Watermans trustees seem to not understand places them in the prime spot where they are and not where they want to be, which will end up being a white elephant.
