Thanks, Jim & Audrey, for the Tall Ships' pictures!I took lots of photos but they don't capture the magic of watching those elegant and graceful vessels slowly passing down the River Suir.Your two photos are magic.

Ann: This was the Alexander Von Humboldt sailing ship..apparently its a 100 years old!!I believe they are all due to arrive at Gateshead this weekend/Monday.

Yes Ann I believe it was FreeImgHosting.com you went to. I tried to get into their site today and server was down. I also registered at Fotopic.com and tried to work from there. See Wandsworth forum. First pic was too small, second was fine but it was more labor intensive to resize than on the FreeImgHosting site. Don't give up!!

Sarah,I wasn't on the quays (it is estimated there were 200,00 people in the city for the departure!!!!)I was just outside Waterford, on a little island - you have to take a ferry to get there - and there were no more than about 100 of us on the riverbank which is at the edge of a 300 acre golf course....just brilliant.

Ann.  I remember I had difficulty parking in the car parks shown on the web cam because everywhere we went there were height bars to stop travellers from setting up home.  I was driving a people carrier with a top box on the roof to free up space inside the car.

Ann, Several of us have joined this img hosting Internet Service..its free..and just have to register ..then start to upload your pictures..It takes a little getting used to. When you log in ..you'll see clicking options. Click UPLOAD< then scroll down to BROWSER  click on that and it goes straight to your MY PICTURES ...click the picture you want..click OPEN..and off it goes.You have to wait for the website to collect thre picture from you..and if its too big..it will not be able to digest it..as I have found with my garden pictures. But if you have luck..you'll see your pictures on this helpful but 50% working website..and the img src thingy is already toppped anf tailed for you.Have luck!  PS: The tall ship sights must have been wonderful.

I watched the Tall Ships leave Waterford last Saturday - up at 4 am and off to Waterford Castle, watched the ships sail past the riverbank from 7 am onwards.  I have some nice photos (taken with my new digital camera) which have been transferred to my computer, but how do I get them posted here - well, one or two photos at least, please?

I get the same picture each time I click on the webcam during daylight hours. Last night it did go completely dark after all the illuminations were turned off.

We spent a short holiday at the coast near Waterford and visited the town several times.  It is a pretty Town and we enjoyed walking along the river.  The people were very friendly and it is the first time I have been sent out of a shop with 'God bless you on your way' and the suchlike - truly meant by the shop assistant.  These pictures are smashing and I am enjoying the discussions between these lovely posters in 'far flung' places .... Or are we the ones who are 'far flung'?We came back from our holiday to Ireland with several phrases which we still use.  One of them is very appropriate for this thread - a young lad in a supermarket in Dingle said to his mum looook at those looooverley yogurts.  The way he said Loooverrly in his accent was, Looverlee, and we often say it.All together now, ............  ;-)

Audrey and all.I've just remembered..the webcam images will not change ...before your eyes...whilst you're looking at them....but they will change each time you click onto the thread.Its possible to click from Audrey's to my message..and you will see the webcam picture change.

it doesn't move..like the Vyborg ones does.I recall a recent posting of mine about the destination blinds for buses on the 65 bus route. Whilst on the PROPERTIES webpage the upper part of the image was satic..and the lower part moved all the time showing the different destinations the bus went too..I couldn't copy and paste the jpgURL successfully..for a good reason that Richard gave.So: help needed still!

Hello Audrey..By the way I have much enjoyed your pictures ..the Pacific Ocean and then the field of flowers. Ann's garden and family photo was excellent too..wasn't it?Fancy that..the Tall Ships arriving in Waterford..they make for a very impressive presence...The shear size of some of them..and then all the social gatherings on board and around the dockside. Thats what brentford needs...but they wouldn't get under the Thames Bridges...although I did see them in London some 15 years ago..in the Pool of London..and further downstream. The Russian and Polish ships were particularly memorable.So: this webcam..so we can see the ships. You had a jpg in the URL..so I'll give it go now...but best of all I think that we need advice from Professor Richard Jennings..who is mainly based on the Chiswick forum.
