Brewery Tap Closng

I hear that the Brewery Tap is going to close very soon. Ive only been in there a few times but I was always made to feel welcome.I heard that the music is a big attraction but that's after my bed time. I have a blue badge and recntly I haven't wanted to go down to the pub because it looks like theres no way through.What a huge shame. Suerly somebody will want to take it on but maybe they would have to compete with the place beyond it that I heard also has a licence to sell booze.I'm amazed that this has been allowed to happen. I hope that the Magpie will hang one.

I walked down the blue road today and there was no barrier and no guard, just a few flags and somebody dispensing free coffee.While at the Brentford Project I asked about the hideous car park - well, more specifically, when the cladding was going to go on. I can't say I remember the answer other than that there are two stages to planning and that the cladding will come later. How much later I asked? Anyway, the other thing I was told is that there will be flats attached or built very close to the 'arse' side of the car park and, as far as I could make out, that these flats will be built side-on to the road.

The Brewery Tap closed on August 31st 2019. Nobody seems to know what will happen in the future. Will Fullres get the tree million they are asking for the sale of it or will Ballymore override everything as usual and replace it with more flats? Maybe the local council will come up with a different idea, who knows? Why are the barricades there? The guards seem to be asleep or drunk on many occasions and recently not even on site.

Its not a massive suprise as Pubs are closing down all over the country these days.

Admittedly trees in pots would look better than the barricades but I would venture to say that the majority of people who use/used The Brewery Tap already know it's there. Also, Rye by the Water doesn't seem to be having trouble attracting people and it is a new venture. On going to Rye by the Water 'new' people will also become aware of The Brewery Tap.I am wondering whether The Brewery Tap has now, temporarily or otherwise, closed as per previous comments.

Even on foot it doesn't look very inviting and you'd have to know it was there to start with so the trees in big pots sound a good idea.

Was there ever much parking down there? I would have thought that the majority of The Brewery Tap's customers arrived on foot. It's only a short distance to walk.

Has the pub closed? That would be a crying shame. I had a look down the road today and the sentry box and barrier would put everybody off. I can see they want to keep out gipsies and vandels at night but in day time it would be good to have trees in big pots or something.How do people think they can go down the road.

Thank God we didn't buy Hershey! Disgusting stuff to my taste (although they actually manufacture and distribute Cadbury-branded to a local recipe in the USA).Cadbury was ripe for takeover the moment it demerged from Schweppes.  'We' didn't have any say who purchased Cadbury's - the takeover by Kraft was largely funded by RBS which, as the time was owned by UK taxpayers having been bailed our by Gordon Brown's government.Hershey's simply rejected the $23 Billion offer for their company as inadequate.

Selling England by the pound ! That is exactly what I am saying. I remember when a British company wanted to buy Hershey in the US. It was stopped as it was said an iconic brand going would be bad. However when Cadbury was for sale we did not care who bought it!

Easy for Asahi TBH.They could either 'erect a brewery on an industrial estate by Reading' or buy a modern fully functional brewery in Chiswick along with an established wholesale and retail distribution chain.We bemoan foreign investment in Britain, but do take a look at how many overseas companies are owned by UK corporations.

Yes pubs do close but it's normally because they are not popular. The Brewery Tap has a healthy customer base unlike a lot of other pubs in Brentford. It has probably closed due to the development.Likewise Asahi probably is a nice refreshing drink but again... Fullers' Brewery is a successful company. Why didn't Asahi purchase or erect a brewery on an industrial estate by Reading? It's smoke and mirrors. Selling England by the pound imho.

Pubs close. Tastes change. I remember when people used to drink bitter and lager arriving. Asahi is a nice drink. Its no use complaining its a Brith company that sold out. Rolls Royce is probably better for being German. We have French and German companies running our buses because they do it better. Greene King well there we go.

The Brewery Tap is within the boundaries of the new Ballymore Brentford Project scheme.  There will be a huge amount of new builds, but currently the plans are for the pub to stay.

Fullers sold the brewery and beer business to Asahi. None of the pubs or hotels were part of the deal, unlike the Greene King sale to an Hong Kong property developer.

I can't see why it would close? Always packed when I've gone in unlike another Fuller's pub The Six Bells. I know Fullers has sold its brewery to a Japanese firm, so expect luxery flats with river views in the next 10 years.

My chum Richard was at a gig at the Brewery Tap last night and was told that it was the penultimate gig before closure, yet the gig website lists gigs for the next few months.Confusing

Who did you hear that from?I spoke to the young woman in The Brentford Project behind Rye by the Water a week or two ago and she said that The Brewery Tap definitely wasn't closing and that Ballymore had paid for a new garden out the back of the pub.It would be good to know for sure what the plans for The Brewery Tap are - could be that if the pub closes somebody else will take it over.
