Heathrow Flight Path

Is Heathrow experimenting with Flight Path and altitude?  The planes have been noticeably lower and closer to the Library this  morning (Saturday). The noise and vibration first alerted me ... then the obvious sight of planes passing by!

Third runway at Heathrow plan blocked, just heard.

Pre the third runway HAL are planning simultaneous landings and take offs so an extra 25000 flights can be fitted in a year. However I dont think this has started yet.
