Huge issue around here, must be the same elsewhere. Completely undermines the DVLA adverts. This forms a central part to our accepting a CPZ.The other day, after listening to several of the clamping adds on the car radio, I rang the DVLA.I have to pay for this sort of call, but after going through all the automotive numbers I ended up with somebody, who listened. They then gave me another number. I did the same and eventually spoke to a person, who listened, and gave me another number. I dialled this number and spoke to person, who listened, then handed me over to another person, who listened, and then told me to report it with number plate details on line. This last conversation was with the clampers for LBH so if they don’t know they are losing clamps, then who is gong to follow this through? They did say their readers don’t pick up the number plates when cars are parked close up together. So if you had a car with no road tax this might be the way to park it? Probably needs somebody to get out and walk.I know our Mayor, Cllr Tony Louki, has been taking information and tackling this for a few years now, so if he can’t swing it who is going to listen ‘and act’ on people ringing in?Reflecting on these stories and the difficulties this area has had with these cars and vans, you have permission to look on the DVLA advert with new insight, and laugh at the comedy sketch.
