Brentford Police Newsletter

Having moved to London from Johannesburg two years ago, I can only be impressed by this newsletter.The police should be commended for their efforts to inform and share information with the communities they work with. It is so wonderful to get feedback and some interaction!Changing the topic slightly - does anyone else have problems with teenagers in their streets? It seems that the children run the show here!

Hounslow police is made up of meny departments like any other bourough, the borough is policed 24 hrs a day 365 days a year by responce teams who deal with 999 calls, they parade out of chiswick to cover brentford chiswick isleworth and osterly feltham cover hounslow heston hanworth and feltham. though the police can be deployed to any where on the borough.then there are community teams that deal with neighbourhood issues and work closely with the council, and yes the officers work mainly through the week.shortly over the next 2 years there will be the introduction of safer neighbourhood teams which are a small team on 1 seargent 2 pc's and 3 pcso's dedicated to each ward accross the borough to deal with the community issues of that ward.

This is excellent news..and hopefully it will be easy to locate on this website..from the front page..somehow or other.On the Chiswick Website.as most people will know..Police Data is accessed from the front page INDEX >INFORMATION>POLICE and a considerable amount of information is there regarding recent crimes  and contact numbers.On the Putney Website..the Borough Commander himself appears on the Forum to deal with queries!So, after our often requested calls on this Forum for Police Information...the inaugural Police Newsletter has arrived.Questions were already being asked tonight..by a lady living on the Syon Estate (Trees?) why isn't the Brentford Police Station open for 24 hours (particularly in in view of high number of ASBOs)... and... is it true that there are there only 8 police officers covering Brentford throughout the 168 hours of the week? The lady had attended a hustings meeting in Osterley tonight.  Any answers for her?
