Gunnersbury is a large park. And not terribly accessible unless very fit or able. Many older people who need exercise, especially now rely on cars to get to parks. It's not rocket science but the car is the safest way to move around in isolation.I think closing the park's car park is not a wise decision. It should remain open for over 60s who visit alone. The appalling state of pavements in South Ealing and bit's of Brentford makes it really tough for elderly to even take a short walk around the block and no one, young or old wants to risk a fall at the present time.Uncut grass is also a hazard in parks now as it it full of twigs and detritus that cannot be seen. Not safe for Urban strolls and kids playing.
