I went up Hounslow High Street earlier. It was busy - there are a lot of shops - Iceland, Poundland, Some 'local/metro' shops independent and chains. The vast majority of people were queueing nicely at an approximation of 2M. Of course there were a few people apparently completely ignoring the rules but really only a couple and they could conceivably have been flat sharers. My impression is the overwhelming majority understand the 'rules' and try to stick to them. But it's really not possible if a place is very busy- for example, one queue stretched across the High Street so if you wanted to go up or down it you had to pass between people 2M apart
