Morrisons

Just to put a word in for Morrisons who have been brilliant throughout the lockdown. Cheerful staff despite everything. Most stuff you need in stock. I doff my hat.

I used the telephone number last Friday for the essentials delivery lovely man l spoke to went through the 46 items made my list he said would be delivered after lunchtime Saturday, came at 10am only l item not available well done to Morrison's know someone who had a vegetable box and was over the moon. They appear to have shown other supermarkets the way.

Morrison's are also offering 10% discount to NHS staff.

I have found Wiltshire Farm foods very good. Good delivery servive, good range. They certainly live up to their adverts.

I thought this was the case with Sainsburys. I tried and it said something like only vunerable people. There was a link which was .gov.uk if you thought you qualified. I thought I did. I went on it, they wanted NHS no not NI. I filled it all in, about 10 days later I got an e mail saying the were contacting my doctor. Then about 5 days later an e mail came from Sainsburys saying they had been informed about me and I could use the service. On the Sainsbury there are 3 little green vans where slots are available.

Have to agree with Raymond's post.There should be no delivery slots made available to anyone capable of getting their own shopping.

I think it must be very very difficult for the staff to keep it working well. Ok to organise but when the doors open and it all starts. Well, they have my admiration. Also the van drivers, backing in, sorting the delivery, and then up and down stairs in flats etc, then back into the van and repeat all over again. Punishing.

I went to Tesco's Osterley yesterday morning.Wholly civilised and VERY well organised. Everyone kept their distance in the queue, trolleys and baskets were spray sanitised and wiped twice before entry.A good one way system in the aisles, meaning that you do not encounter someone walking towards you and a single 'distance-marked' queue in aisle 15 for the checkouts from which, when you reach the front, you are summoned to a free checkout (every other checkout is open allowing you to pay and pack without someone standing next to you on an adjacent checkout.

My neighbour found elbow to elbow queueing outside Tesco Osterley and did the same u turn.  It is a trek for him to walk over there, then back and to then try again.  Luckily we have had a few delivery slots so tagged things on for him as he does not have computer access either.  He has been using the library computers for years.  A delivery driver was saying how lots of people are tagging things on for their neighbours.

My youngest son having had his new job start 'pushed back' due to the current crisis, applied to Tesco for a temporary delivery driver job. After an interview he had to wait for a DBS check to come back. Once it did he notified Tesco and then they asked him to go for a driving assessment - almost 3 weeks ago now. Since then in spite of trying to contact the living - on Twitter, e-mail and even in person at the nearest shop to the duty manager - a big, fat silence. Promised calls back from HR which of course never happened - and only getting - 'Do not reply' standard e-mails, he's run out of ideas and very nearly patience. Yet people are moaning and groaning about not being able to get shopping delivered - go figure!

Found it odd that so many younger and more able people are in a complete lather about delivery slots and yet live less than 5 mins from Morrisons which has really got their act together.The rub is so many who are much older and not so able or are not even supposed to leave their homes at all are unable to get any slots and then there are all those who are not even online.
