Rank hypocrisy?

A friend of mine who retired from the NHS after 47 years service in WMUH sent this to me after I forwarded the piece about the Duke of Northumberland flying the NHS flag over Syon House.'I read with interest the piece about Syon House featured on TW8, proudly proclaiming the Percy family support for the NHS. They are of course holed up in Northumberland on a huge estate so not really at risk. Meanwhile citizens from poorer communities are suffering the brunt.Can I ask if the Duke or any of his family have ever used the NHS?  What has he or his family done to support the NHS apart from flying a flag as a public relations exercise ? Has he contributed part of his great fortune? I expect not.'Lynne McEvoy

If you can afford not to use the NHS, should you?Fact is his estate will have paid a substantial amount of Taxes that go into the NHS, and schools and services.Whether his family uses these or not is not really an argument.Someone using the services and avoiding any sort of contribution when they can afford it is another thing.
