Latest ONS Death Registrations 2020 up to Week 18 (May 01)

England & Wales - where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate:All Ages:      33,365Under 65:      3,908Number of deaths (all ages) that are above the 5 year average (prior to 2020) for given period where COVID-19 is not mentioned on the death certificate i.e. unexplained additional deaths. Period being lockdown date to Week 18:   12,771All worth it?!

The method of counting and confirming actual deaths is in a mess. A case of too many cooks and too much complacency.Medics have not entered care and nursing homes for some time before the lockdown.  Residents are not tested and most care home staff are still not either with many being told to test by post.No post mortems are being carried out except for deaths in suspicious or circumstances that may implicate legal claims. some relatives are demanding Corona virus NOT be placed on death certificates and vice versa.  Health and authorities are shifting sands up and down the country .None of this helps get a true picture, but just like so many aspects of how this country is run, this is not really any thing new. It's just become rather more exposed as to how inept so many are in high managements.

Just heard on GMB deaths estimated to be 60000. Did any body see this.
