I was stopped by the police when I tried to walk my dogs up there last night at about 6.30. He told me there had been a fatality and the road would be closed for about 24 hours.

Thanks for the upate, nothing at all on the traffic or motoring sites yesterday.
Both A4 and Boston Manor Road open this morning at 7.15. Walking my dog last night about 9.00pm I asked a policeman on the A4 if someone had been killed. He replied 'potentially'.

A4 was still closed from Windmill Road to Gilette Corner at 01:00
Traffic was tailing back both ways along Popes Lane which usually means that there's been a nasty accident on either the A4 or the Uxbridge Rd.It was just like old times ...

It must have happened before 18:00 as the 195 and E8 were both being diverted onto Swyncombe Avenue and then onto Popes Lane rather than down Windmill Road.
There are tents on the Great West Rd now which indicates fatalities or a serious crime scene. Road works have seriously impeded access by emergency services all afternoon. No space to manor congested and diverted traffic out of the way.

There have been emergency vehicle sirens going all day. 2 Police cars pulled somebody over and blocked them in in Wood Lane ... ambulances shooting all over the place near bridge road. We only went out to do a non contact pick up at screwfix! Hope people are safe. Sx
