High Street Bus Lane Extension  - no parking on High Street

Has anyone been made aware of the changes to the parking arrangements on Brentford High Street.  Out of nowhere, the parking bays outside our office and Jenny's - Barclays Bank etc have apparently been tuned into a bus lane.  Beware everyone - please don't park in front of our office to say high or grab a coffee from Cup of Heaven of Jenny's - its now longer allowed :-(

A local MP has little or no influence over what a local authority in their constituency does, they can make repesentation on behalf of local people but decsions are up to the council.

Odd that a bus lane is placed near a junction where buses turn left and go ahead which makes the lane pointless.Odd too that the Bus lane is by a key compulsory stop which has a double bus stop marked and means all buses have to be in the left lane.Odd again that this arrangement with parking has worked perfectly well for years and does not cause any congestionUnlike the bus lane towards Kew which gets regularly blocked by just 2 parked vehicles and causes delays of several minutes in the morning rush hour and at weekendsWhy this obsession with tampering with what does not need tampering with, yet not fixing what really needs fixing?It's just to try and placate the delays being caused at other locations.Lunacy.

Sadly, Policy and idealism based on dodgy statistics and absolutely no comprehension of pragmatism has led to a complete disjointed policy from planning to commerce.Quietly changing the land designation for the Morrisons site quietly some years back without clear open discussion and consultation is indicative of the irresponsibility or incompetence of governance. Ignoring the reasons for limits on heights of Buildings in the river basin and losing records of why these restrictions existed is equally indicative.Now we have traffic restrictions that contradict basic common sense and risk complete devastation of commerce by people who either have everything done for them or can afford to or to serve interests of those they are bedfellows with.No wonder this whole country is unravelling into a complete laughing stock of a mess.

And how long will it be before parking is prohibited on the other side when building work begins, definitely end of high street then still everyone will be able to cycle or use their scooter to go elsewhere but we will have the cycle superhighway three hearty cheers
