i-Plus

This week I've noticed three iPlus terminals in Ealing at Northfields, Ealing Broadway station and Town Hall. i-Plus is an open booth giving free E-mail, Public Transport, Map, Weather, Entertainment and local information via a touch-sensitive screen and printer.  I find the system excellent with fast, relevent response and robust.Transport information comes from the Transport for London database and maps go down to post-code level for the whole country and is excellent.  I found the Entertainment information more difficult to use with reams of shows shown.  I couldn't find the Proms mentioned.Interestingly I found it takes only 10 minutes longer fromn Ealing to Wimbledon (43m to 61m) than from Ealing to Hounslow (34m to 53m).  Presumably the tube favours longer journeys.  But this must run against the natural employment/business demands which cluster around local nodes.  Perhaps that's the explanation why Hounslow borough has relatively more car journeys than the London average.

Michael - where did you see that Hounslow has more car journeys than the London average? Not disputing this - in fact it makes sense given the geographical spread - but I'd just like to know who did the numbers.
