Brentford Royal Mail Update

It was finally confirmed Saturday that the office will be moving to the Jubilee Mail Centre on Godfrey Way, Hounslow next June 2021.This means all staff and deliveries will move to the Mail Centre.    Customers collecting items that could not be delivered to either TW8 or TW7, will from then, need to go to Hounslow Royal Mail delivery office on Holloway Street, Hounslow. By Asda supermarket.     Until we move next June deliveries, collections, drop offs and enquiries will continue from the current Brentford site.   There are no further details at present. As and when there is any further news i will of course update everyone.

Always used to have nightmares with Hermes but they've become reliable recently. Ive always found dpd best though.

Announcement last week that Hermes taking on 10,500 new staff. Our Hermes guy is excellent. Royal Mail is done for.

Shame this is happening.My experience of Hermes is that the driver was worse than useless.

Afraid I will do the same and cease to use Royal Mail as a chosen deliverer.I will not be travelling to Hounslow to pick up an undelivered item.As it is the lack of a post office has cost them at least £1900 of our business since lockdown.We now use Hermes and they come and collect.I would rather use Royal Mail but for sending it's still reliant on the Post Office for mixed packages and small volume. They obviously don't care about little businesses spending under £2000 a quarter. Their rivals certainly do care.

You just can't escape the feeling that the so-called management of Royal Mail are doing their utmost to ensure that private companies thrive whilst they do their damndest to run what's left of their business into the ground. Whatever happened to public service and customer and staff care?

Thanks for the update Martin, albeit bad news. No doubt we will lose some of our highly respected local postmen and postwomen due to the increase in their travel time to and from work which will clearly impact on the length of their working day. Royal Mail clearly have no regard for either their staff or their customers.  Whilst now, if I order on the internet, I am happy if I see that delivery is by Royal Mail, I'm afraid this will change in the future and I will avoid websites who use RM. It should have been so easy for RM to locate a small unit in Brentford to accommodate Brentford staff and a sorting area. Clearly RM management are lacking in both common sense and customer care.

So no doubt Guy and his pals will be happy to collect on their bikes on behalf those who cannot ride or walk that far.More local jobs lost. More requirement to travel.And How many buses go to that point of Hounslow and at what cost?Another  ham fisted deal promoting Brentford ripe for development at Cannes a few years ago has led to this.
