gates at Brentford Dock Estate

I have been taking this beautiful, peaceful riverside walk for the thirty years I have lived in Brentford.  Now it is patrolled by menacing men in high-viz jackets. Of course they are paid to enforce the rules so my protests fall on deaf ears.  I have now found another route by the river where I won't have unpleasant encounters with men in yellow lurking in the bushes.  Shame on you Brentford Dock Estate.

I think there may be some confusion re. whom the 'menacing men in high-viz jackets'work for, as these sound like Ballymore workers, not Brentford Dock, which has always had a very low key (and friendly) security provison.  Ballymore, however, have gated Catherine Wheel Road with a checkpoint and have now pretty much taken over Dock Road, which was subject to a comulsory purchase order and no longer belongs to the Dock.

I thought that they couldn’t close down public access footpaths which is why Osterley Park has an open footpath in front of the house?  What are the legal considerations?
