Re: Brentford redevelopment
Having lived in Brentford for over forty years I have been watching the planned redevelopment.Reading that: 'two planning applications were approved in 2018 for193 flats on the Watermans Arts Centre/Max Factor site (P/2017/3372) and the replacement of Watermans (of similar size to existing) plus 105 flats at the Police Station (P/2017/3371). The proposal for the Watermans site was called in by the Secretary of State in April 2018 following objections from Historic England regarding the visual impact from Kew Gardens of its height and massing.' It was called Watermans because its close to the water, when it moves are they going to re-name it as it won't be any longer? Also plans for the rear of St Lawrence Church to build 18 flats in the Victorian cemetery to the rear, which will see some of Brentford's ancestors (more than 10,000) dis-interned and reburied elsewhere.I can't help wondering when all these new apartments are built how the local schools, doctor surgeries, traffic chaos not to mention parking which has been a nightmare for some time, are going to cope.As the saying goes watch this space.
