Street lighting dimming too early?

Noticed on my bike how dim the lighting has become on Swyncombe ave in recent weeks.As I ride it more than I drive it, am finding this and several roads off Windmill road far to dark to be safe even as early as 8pm.But there is a marked difference to the norm. Is this deliberate or a fault?Make it rather less safe for pedestrians and those on two wheels ( including those of us who do have good lights on our machines)Has anyone else noticed this?

Many thanks.It is quite noticeable so must be a software fault as the whole street dims down.

I'm glad to hear that you have good lights on your bike, Raymond, as I can't believe the number of numpties I see with barely any light at all, maybe something that flickers wanly as they pedal. And they're usually dressed head-to-foot in dark colours too!
