Lateral flow test available now

For those who do not yet know, these are available in Hounslow for the non symptomatic.I had one today, arrived early and was seen straight away.Very clear and courteous direction from staff there,result texted to me a half hour later. 10/10.

Thanks.  If a queue of 1 outside, couldn’t it have been done outside though.  Even their adverts suggest open windows and a flow of air.

When I went I was asked to wait outside in a queue of one(me) and then a member of staff came out to confirm who I was and if I had any symptoms, then showed me in and I had a brief chat with someone else who explained what to do before being shown to a booth.All staff are mask/visor and no doubt tested.Result in half an hour.

So, you go into a room where there is a high probability of people having the infection who have been standing in the same air space as you, in order to queue for a test.  It’s a bit like going to the Drs surgery of old, you would go in healthy and sit in the waiting room next to somebody with a cold/chest infection.

Sorry to show my ignorance but what is that test and what does it show?

I am not sure that's a practical possibility.There is equipment involved and it would be down to the vagaries of the weather.There are very few people in the area where they do the testing,separate booths,plenty of hand sanitiser.They can do so much and they can never please everyone.

Need to go to an outdoor clinic if we need a test.  Seems madness to walk in after infected people with virus hanging in the air.
