Pictures of hidden places in Brentford..south of the High Street

A wander round the old industrial sites of Brentford reveal images that you'd never find elsewhere in the Borough..and in many ways they have a charm! Once the building get pulled down..it will all be gone!Lets start with that odd building..the covered wharf just off Dock Road..where the barges would have been unloaded..and where many people would have worked.

JimThanks for the pictures. As I have said previously people who have an interest in heritage should be on thier guard. These pictures highlight the range of buildings that need to be looked at.I believe a number of them should be preserved including the house attached to Wilson & Kyle.If you have a pasion for heritage write to the Heritage Officer at LBH.

Many thanks for putting some of these pictures in the forum. The BIG lead picture is appalling - there's no accounting for taste but then in the design of the Land South of the High Street development this will be pulled down. Another of your pictures (I think) is the Victorian Warehouse. This is to be saved and I am glad to be able to see it for the first time. I'm not brave enough to trespass on private land but would love to get pictures just to show what was in an area before it's pulled down.

If you knocked through that end wall..you are likely to appear on the High Street at the Half Acre... opposite the Beehive pub. Wouldn't the interior there make a wonderful indoor market or bar. Its likely to be smashed down I presume. Take a last look!

The traffic lights are still active..even though the exit is closed. Isn't the pattern of that metal-work to be admired?
