This row is not about money. What it is is that prior to this any woman cabinet minister would have to resign her position to go on maternity leave. The bill being pushed through now is to allow Suella Braverman, Attorney General, six months leave when she has her second baby, but the government is not extending this to ALL women MPs. I think it came to most of us as a shock to hear that something as antiquated as this actually still applied, the government really should address this and not exclude any woman at all regardless, it doesn't take an expert to see how this discriminates and creates a two tier system which cannot be right.
