Streetspace review results

Hounslow have published their independent review of its controversial Streetspace initiative - https://www.hounslow.gov.uk/streetspace-reviewThis seems like the most salient note from the report: "50.The majority of feedback that has been received expresses both objection to the schemes and clear desire for the schemes to be removed with immediate effect.". Will this be clear reaction by acted on??

Perhaps Cllr. Lambert would do well to consider how gullible LBH were to rush headlong into the 'Shapps Money Grab' without considering the impact on residents. The May 2022 elections will be VERY interesting.

I read it too. It is clear that the whole LTN policy is deeply unpopular. Perhaps Cllr Lambert should read it himself. What part of the residents saying clearly we do not want this scheme does he and his cronies not understand.

I note Guy Lambert's blog comment on people commenting on the Streetspace report without having read it - I can assure him that I have read it, and the conclusions are very clear. Will he commit to respecting the views clearly expressed by the communities affected and remove these unpopular and unnecessary measures, or will he seek to deny the overwhelming objections? I look forward to next week's blog where I expect him to announce an increase in the chocolate ration to 20g.

Not sure about the 'lefties' comment, more arrogant than anything, but definitely 'anti community' though. The sad thing is that had some meaningful consultation with local residents and time been taken before rushing headlong into these schemes, it is possible that there were some areas that might have benfitted from them. But in a rush to get their hands on the government's money councils simply didn't stop to think, clever really, this was an initative from Mr. Shapps but look who is getting the blame. Serves them right really.

This just shows how out of touch local councillors are with their residents. Not one area supported this LTN madness.The whole thing has been a colossal waste of time and money.This borough it seems to me is being run by a bunch of anti car, anti community lefties who seem hell bent on making people's lives as difficult as possible
