The parliamentary boundary changes are a completely different kettle of fish to the local government ones.First, the parliamentary constituency changes have no impact at all on council boundaries. Chiswick will still be in London Borough of Hounslow (except the bits that have always been in Ealing) and Whitton will still be in the Royal Borough of Richmond.Secondly, the parliamentary changes are in draft and will not be agreed for some time yet. The council ward changes are set in concrete and will be in place for the next probably 20 years. In terms of the ward changes that affect Brentford, the heart of Brentford will remain in Syon Ward (now Syon and Brentford Dock), which will continue to stretch from Half Acre well into Isleworth, and include the area south of the High street as far as Smith Hill (opposite Ealing Road/McDonalds.)The old Brentford ward (which I currently represent) will be split in two, essentially to the West of Ealing Road (Brentford West, which is just to the East of Brentford :-)) and to the east of Ealing Road (Brentford East). Brentford West will add Orchard and Glenhurst Roads, plus some (maybe all) of Albany Road from Syon and some bits of the A4 west of Boston Manor.Brentford East will lose a chunk of the riverside developments near Kew Bridge to Chiswick Riverside, and Lionel Road North and Popes Lane (and Gunnersbury Park itself) to what used to be Turnham Green ward and will now be called Chiswick Gunnersbury.Personally I think these ward changes are ridiculous (though the current Brentford ward is too big - nearly twice the population of some of the Chiswick wards) but they have been decided by much cleverer people than me.
