'Funny' being a euphemism for disgraceful.Church St.,Gunnersbury Bowls,LTN's are three off the top of my head.I am sure there are other examples.I am awaiting the 'You know we said we would insist that Waterman's Art Centre would be incorporated into the new development..'

Ballymore seem to just do as they like.Happens again and again.The most tenuous of reasons and they get waved through.Funny though how strong reasoning, fully substantiated from local people and groups doe not even get listened to.

Tim - there is a condition attached to Ballymore's planning permission which seeks to retain the Ronalds family vault in situ. However, Ballymore have hinted that this may not be possible due to "procedural requirements". This is all very concerning but Brentford Voice are on the case.There are few headstones remaining. Goodness knows what happened to them but our guess is that many were removed in the late 1970s when there was a plan to use the Church as a community theatre with a car park in the churchyard. The remaining headstones are to be incorporated within the boundary of the site.

Those with family links to the burial ground must be horrified although I understand the Diocese has made efforts to contact anyone with links to those buried there. The church has of course long been deconsecrated and stripped out.Always sad to see old tombstones vandalised. It seems to unnecessary.The church was in the middle of the battle of Brentford in November 1642 and the church records show a number of burials relating to the battle. I was pleased to hear that some local people wish to memorialise the dead from this important (but often ignored) battle. The Battlefields Trust and the John Hampden Society would be happy to assist with this

Absolutely horrifying. Did Ballymore really need to smash all of the gravestones up?The church and graveyard are Grade II* listed.
