Baffles me as to why Labour Councils in particular  and the GLA are not making a bigger fuss about the insanity of the Planning changes but out side of that the last decade of poor quality developments simply to meet quotas and suit large developers.The over development of 'luxury housing' that is not popular with inhabitants but goes down well with investors, in particular those overseas investors has created the vacuum leading to a stifling of true affordable homes.The encouragement of attracting too many people to one part of the country when it cannot even manage to spread wealth and opportunity across the whole of the UK is coming at the price of overcrowding and pushing the infrastructure beyond capabilities.But it seems to suit developers who get the green light to build cheap and upwards. Palm it off as luxury and make a huge profit.But there is no spine to stand up to this. Not from this and the last 5 governments, not from the mayor of London whose obsession with 'quotas over quality' is near insane and the cosiness between local authorities and developers with no clear concern over the ramifications their dealings is shameful.

Building over the “agreed” height so now looming over the tree tops of syon gardens in order to get their million pound scenic green views ….if only we had a local council with backbone to bring these blue nosed hellhounds to heel..

When the Pocket Homes development in Bollo Lane used pictures of cafes in Hackney to illustrate the nearby attractions of the area, I mentioned Advertising Standards to them and they were removed.

Interesting that much of the publicity show pictures that are not shot in or even near Brentford, as for the copy.  Where is this utopia?
