New coins

I have been trying to source 'new' coins - y'know, brand new 1p and 5p pieces and some £5 notes.  The banks I have asked at said to try the Post office, and the post office says they dont have them!Anyone know how and where new money enters circulation or where I can buy some?

Sarah, my suggestion wasn't facetious, honest...I have a friend who collects coins and says you can get brand new ones courtesy of the Mint.If not, they would be able to tell you how to get them.:-0
