My understanding is that travelling on a crowded, sweaty tube for the best years of our lives to an unventilated office to work for a pittance to make somebody else rich constitutes "freedom" and "liberty", but being asked to wear a mask for ten minutes whilst in Tesco to protect the vulnerable or to wash our hands after going to the toilet is a one-way street to totalitarianism. Perhaps if I've got this wrong this one of the enlightened ones could, well, enlighten me?
