The problem is that 'consultation' is statutory but not binding, it's just another box for these arrogant know-alls to tick. But, then when we have officers openly telling public meetings about these issues 'this is not a democracy' then you sort of get the idea of where we are at. The standard of elected members is at an all time low, which coincides with the allowances being at an all time high, they lack commitment not only to their party ideals and principles but to the electorate, perhaps we should question why they even stand for the office? Being an elected advocate for your party of choice and your fellow residents is a privilege and should be regarded as a civic duty, what it isn't is being petty little dictators who think they are superior beings who know what is best for us. We need people from the various communities around the borough to put up their own independent candidates, standing on their own local issues, otherwise we will only land up with the same old, same old.
