As I understand it Janet Tindall was on the shortlist for selection in Hounslow Central, where the three incumbents were booted out amid the farcical scenes which have been reported through the various local news media. The rumour surrounding Val Lamey is that she was drafted into the selection process for one of the Heston wards as they needed a female candidate, but when she got there was told they didn't need her as they had already found one. If this isn't the case then doubtless she will correct me; if she doesn't then we can deduce from her willingness to go to Heston that New Labour, with good reason, doesn't fancy its chances of holding Syon. That New Labour is only promoting two names in Isleworth would suggest that the task of taking on the community here next May is not a popular one with the membership. They would appear to have duped two newbies into believing that they will win the ward, but the more experienced and wiser prospectives would seem to be avoiding it like the proverbial plague. As regards your comments elsewhere about Paul Fisher and Hounslow South Simon, this is simply a piece of mischief being spread on the Ivytag site by a well-known local Labour Party apparatchik. Paul will decide for himself if and where he wishes to seek selection when the time comes, and would then need to go through the process like the rest of us. In my view he would make a fine councillor wherever he was elected to serve.
