Frank Field
A wonderful free-thinker and former Chairman of the Child Poverty Action Group I first met him when he chaired the Cathedrals Fabric Commission. A former councillor in Hounslow he is known for not toeing the party line.Sadly, he is now too ill to attend debates in the House of Lords where he sits as a cross-bencher. Whatever your feelings about the Assisted Dying Bill which he is actively supporting despite being terminally-ill himself , please keep him in your thoughts.Would that we had people of such calibre as local councillors nowdays.
