The Kew Eye penthouse for sale!

This is a cyberspace tip off. Quick before an incomer snaps it up before you.An introductory fee welcome.(thanks to a gentleman on Brentford Friends Facebook page for the lead.Pity it won't be open to the public..as was once suggested (A champagne bar and all that)

Thanks for your informative reply Raymond.I don't think I've ever seen do much scaffolding..The removal of cladding..as Ian also mentioned.. must be costing a bomb.Interestingly..the company Celotex, who were involved in supplying the cladding...were once located in Ealing Road..near the College! In the 1960's I was involved in posting out mailings for them..promoting their stuff!So half the GWQ site is currently like a bomb site!I'll be moving to a sheltered home near there soon.That'll be fun!

all because the cladding is now deemed unsafe and is being replaced by tiles.There are issues with hot water, water pressure and sewage. And ventilation problems that dog the whole development, even the posh bits.And the Novotel Car park is worth a visit. Littered with dusty cars with number plates that don't check out on the DVLA checker. But seem to look rather familiar.Anyone else noticed?

I learnt today that the first 10 floors of the Tower is now a "Hotel of apartments"... called Adagio as Adam had previously mentioned. There is a sort of shop, and lounge on the ground floor( with a coffee machine which seemingly can be accessed by non residents.The Penthouse..and floors 11-26? are privately owned.Next door at the Novotel Hotel..a restaurant and bar seems to be open to non-residents. I have my eye on the fresh looking swimming pool..but I'm not sure if non-residents can use it..does anyone know.Most of the Great West Quarter seems overloaded with scaffolding.

To be honest I don't think the price is eye-opening, but it says everything that the second paragraph of the listing waxes lyrical about Westfield.  Who would want to pay £4.5 million to live there, with so little on your doorstep ?.A short while back I stayed a couple of nights in the Adagio apartments within the Eye building and as this particular apartment had been vacant for a while it was really cold, so with all that glass I suspect the heating bill would be pretty chunky here too.

Other parts of the GWQ development are having extensive works due to Grenfell cladding issues. I imagine the tower may have similar issues. The 360 degree terrace looks to be floored with timber. Also not allowed since Grenfell. Property has no sales history which is strange. Not sure about the decor but I would love the space and the views. I think the smaller structure above it was supposed to be the viewing gallery.....

At the moment it has far reaching views but by the time the next 10 tower blocks go up blocking the views towards Richmond and Kew, there will only really be a panorama of the M4.…

That penthouse has never been properly occupied, as is many of the constantly dark apartments in that and several other upmarket blocks.
