Love this idea but having visited a few, it is wholly dependent on volunteers and getting the skill sets, tools and parts very much limits their range. There are some great little repair shops but they have almost all been forced out of profitability by the strangulation of parts supply and non repairable items. The change in law on this is too little and way too late. When an item costs for example £75 brand new and a single replacement part costs £55 and then a labour cost on top, it's a no brainer as to what to do next.
