There will never come a day when ANY candidate from ANY party is going to agree with us as individuals 100%. I may not agree with a lot of what Cllr. Lambert says but I will say that he always responds to people, which is a lot more than can be said for some of his colleagues. Similarly - I was, and am a 'remainer', and I think the reasons we voted that way are being vindicated with every day that passes. However, I don't think that someone voting' leave 'would stop me from voting for them in local elections. I quite like people who are prepared to nail their colours to the mast. What I can't be doing with, are the 'don't do as I do - do as I say' brigade - as illustrated magnificently every day by this corrupt government. I really would have liked to see more independent candidates standing across the borough, to loosen the stranglehold of Labour on Hounslow council. As an 'old school' Labour voter and former party member I don't recognise many of these candidates as real, dedicated, through and through Labour people. It just seems too convenient, and I'm not sure they'd be as keen in a predominantly Tory council? I hope I'm wrong but somehow I doubt it, and I know others who feel exactly the same.
