Cases in the uk are rising. Should we be worried. Not much is said about it, only number of cases. Would a GP recognise it etc?

I think the public should be allowed a vote to rename it, I'm going for Poxy McPoxface.

A Govt believing and dependent on just-in-time methods of procurement is likely to get itself into problems. A predicted sometime pandemic shoulf have been no surprise. You'd have thought they'd have learnt something but so should have the rest of us. Risk Assessments are there for a purpose to look after the interests of all of us. Laws should be there for all of us to obey and to look after the wellbeing of us all. There seem to be deliberate attempts at even more division in various quarters already which Putin and acolytes will be enjoying massively and hoping to take more advantage of so I'm sure the UN is just trying to avoid even more. Meanwhile China is taking great advantage of making even closer friendships with the Commonwealth countries we've been distancing ourselves from and neglecting in our self-centredness.

This naval gazing society is far more worried about the name rather than getting everything in place to eradicate it.

They are talking about renaming it. It has been about for years including in North America but has been managed. However it has now been reported in more countries. Anybody can get it.https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2022/06/02/1102199023/opinion-media-coverage-of-monkeypox-paints-it-as-an-african-virus-that-makes-me-
Just read WHO says Europe at the epi centre of monkeypox. Also the EU has bought 110000 does of monkeypox vaccine. What is going on? Has anybody got info on this?

From tomorrow in England monkeypox will be a notifieable disease. I haven't heard a lot about it lately.

Now in twelve countries, eight of which have ONE or TWO confirmed cases. 92 cases worldwide. 56 of these in Spain and Portugal traceable to a single illegal rave. Hardly a pandemic.

It has mutated and is transmissible in hitherto unforeseen ways. While people do recover, it is the long term effects and scarring that can be a problem and very much of concern seems to be withheld.Probably to abate panic or fear but in a developed society hiding the facts as known and putting gaps in the facts does not really help but creates more questions.Just look at the confusion that now exists with Covid and in particular long Covid and the awful suffering that so many with that are having with no clear end.

It has been detected in another three countries yesterday. How is it spreading so fast?
Nicholas Beard ● 42d
Yes, but the cases thus far identified have all bar one been linked to physical contact according to Chelsea and Westminster hospital.
N V Brooks ● 43d
It can also be transferred by respiratory droplets.
Nicholas Beard ● 43d
Absolutely no point in masks it is spread by direct contact hence the cases caused by sexual intercourse.
I wouldn't rely on anything Joe Biden said.

Saw an interview with a British expert who said we should not be too concerned. However President Biden says we should be concerned. What is the truth?
Nicholas Beard ● 44d
Masks back on I'd say after hearing an interview with "an expert" on LBC radio this evening.

Spain has declared a monkeypox alert. We are stocking up on SMALLPOX vacine!

Judging by the photos I've seen your GP would have to be blind not to figure something serious was up.
