Brentford Local History Month - Exhibition at the Musical Museum
As part of Brentford History Month, an exhibition is now open, until 26th June, at the Musical Museum. This includes display boards on the Life and Legacy of Thomas Layton and photographs of Brentford as it was in the early 20th Century. You will also be able to see a small collection of items from Brentford's social and economic history, and there is a quiz and other activities for children. The opening hours are 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. There is no admission fee to visit this exhibition although you may wish to give a small voluntary contribution to the Musical Museum. The cafe at the Museum is always worth a visit for good coffee and tea, and great views over the Thames. To whet your appetite, this site gives some idea of the importance of Thomas Layton in Brentford's history:http://thomaslayton.org.uk/thomas-layton-brentford/the-layton-trail/Brentford Voice is very grateful to those who have contributed to Local History Month, including the Brentford & Chiswick Local History Society, Karen Reader (Brentford Thru My Lens), the Musical Museum, and local businesses.
