I see that on the front page that there are 21 buildings in Hounslow which have serious fire safety defects.I hope they don't find any in the proposed new apartment blocks going up in Brentford.

The residential part of the Great West Quarter is a bomb site in parts these days due to the major reconstruction activity.. removing the originally used dodgy material and replacing it with proper fire resistant material. The expense must be enormous..and there still another six-eight months work to do. Residents must be fed up of the sight of so much scaffolding.Interesting that the lower part of the Skyscraper ..the Kew Eye.. is now a Hotel of sorts. No scaffolding there!

Link to the Brentfordtw8.com website story:http://www.brentfordtw8.com/default.asp?section=community&link=http://neighbournet.com/server/common/ruthcadbury119.htm Also read all of the Guardian link above. There was s fire at New Providence Wharf in Canary Wharf which the LFB were able to put out despite fire precautions not working. Some changes have been made to regulations about the design of tall buildings eg with only one staircase. Is this enough now?

Yes, we all hope that every effort is being made to make sure that the myriad of problems found with Grenfell are corrected and not allowed to re-occur anywhere. It is pretty pointless spending a lot of time and money in calling for and having Coroner's Reports and Inquiries unless action is taken on them. That link in the article on the front page will allow you see the very large numbers of buildings which are involved across just London. Luckily both Hounslow and Ealing appear to have a much lower number compared to some others. However that is no comfort to those owners and residents who are living with the stress and cost of waking watches.
