Brahms and Liszt! Wow Pat! I went there many times in the 1960s.. over 50 years ago. They were good times. There were quite a few Wine Bars around years ago..each with it's unique and personal style... and were seemingly safe places for ladies to mingle.Gradually requests for beers and lagers changed the finesse and style of Wine Bars.. and they seem to have gone out of existence.I enjoyed visiting Maxims in Boston Manor Road, Colin's in Kew Road and Jacksons in Sandicombe Road. There was also a Wine Bar in Brentford..(where Holy Spice is now) called "Godolphins?" run by Colin Ford. The wine from Neirsteiner rings a bell from those times. But tops of all was Pissarros at Kew Green..next to Jaspers Bun in the Oven. Names one no longer hears. We mustn't be sad that those days are lost..but be happy that they happened!

Not sure but it could be the wine bar housed inside Duke's of London, Catherine Wheel Road.

Puts me in mind of the off licence on Richmond Hill called Philglas & Swiggot. Don’t think Rodney would approve.

Apparently, to gain admission you need to be called, Del,Rodney, Trigger or Boycie.
