Grand Teddy Bears Picnic tomorrow!

Passing  the north entrance to Gunnersbury Park today..in Popes Lane..I noticed signage about a Soho House Event.Marshalls were at the entrance indicating bulky equipment possibly arriving.Checking around I find that there's going to be a Grand Teddy Bears' Picnic in the Park tomorrow.That could well be an event local tots wouldn't want to miss.(10.30am till 4pm ish?).Has there been any local publicity? Gunnersbury Park being within  Brentford might possibly qualify for mention on this Website's front page or Calendar even.Anyhow..give your teddies an outing tomorrow.

This is of course a Public Park,  Owned in trust by two boroughs for the townspeople. Sold at a knockdown price for that premise.They cannot even manage to sort out the appalling footpaths but salaries and vast amounts of grant funding seems to be rather vague in there use.The current organisation is now seeking to remove further the public aspect of this park by gaining total control of it via a "Charity Trust"  It will be far from that and no doubt only preferred people will be selected as overseers.

I trust that Soho House paid through the nose for their booking, raising funds for the Park. If people want to spend a fortune on a private members' club, let them.

Today's event was a somewhat more reasonable £5.00 if the child attending wanted to go to the craft and storytelling sessions.Yesterdays event for Soho House started at £325.00 per ticket.From the Soho House website: "On Saturday 9 July The Garden Tent at Soho House Festival will host a limited number of tables of 12 in a private area of the arena with a fully stocked bar and table service. Tables include entry to the festival for 12 people and cost £7,200 (including VAT)."

Maybe the Soho House event was held on Saturday (on W4.com forum Nigel reported  a £300+ entrance fee!).The Teddy Bears picnic being held today. Whatever ..great weather for both.
