And 90% of the rainfall today goes straight into the river sewer outlets and not into the water treatment system or to reservoirs.Barely any change since 1976 when all this was dominating the news about 'long term reserves' and planning for the future.

My tame cha-cha-cha version of the Rain Dance Nigel...failed to get the result needed. I apologise.I hope tonight's Charleston version will bring buckets and buckets.Have never been to the Orkneys although I occasionally get Xmas Hampers sent to me from there. I got to Scrabster once from where the ferry sails. I was on the way to John O'Groats..That's not the most northerly  point on the Mainland. Dunnett Head is.My folk on the Outer Hebrides are also suffering with 9° and are having to burn some peat already to keep warm!Brentford continues to wait!

Thank you Jim. Another 'wee jig' tomorrow please.Just spoken to a friend on Orkney and he is firing up the log burner! With a 25mph gusty wind whipping in over the harbour his thermometer is reading nine degrees Centigrade.

Yes..a result!Only lasted about 10 minutes but it saved me having to do the hosepipe job at the end of the evening for all my neighbours!Yes I'll learn,practise and do that Dance Nigel and hope that buckets and buckets arrived.I presume the Brook Stream, flowing undèr Brentford, will be happy.So too the foxes dug in around Macdonalds.
